Out Of This World was first published, by Charlton Publications, in August 1956. This was a difficult time for the comic book industry as it sought to keep circulation numbers under the strict self-imposed censorship of the Comics Code Authority, that it was forced to adopt
The series would run for 16 issues before ending the run in December 1959. The same year that it introduced Out Of This World Charlton also launched a very similar title, Mysteries Of Unexplored Worlds which lasted very much longer ending its run in September 1965.
The two titles shared the same artists and writers including: Rocco Mastroserio, Bill Molno, Charles Nicholas and Vince Alascia and the famous Steve Ditko.
