Captain Flash made his first appearance starring in his own title, published by Sterling Comics, in November, 1954. However, his brief moment of fame ended abruptly, less than a year later, with issue #4 in July, 1955.
The editor for Captain Flash was Martin Smith and the main artist was Mike Sekowsky.
Captain Flash should not be confused with 'The Flash' a contemporary superhero published by DC Comics. Another potential source of confusion is Ace Comics' 'Flash Lightning' (who was renamed 'Lash Lightning').
Captain Flash's alter-ego was Professor Keith Spencer. Professor Spencer was able to create a small atomic explosion inside his body by simply clapping his hands.
